Go Try Rugby have developed a range of coaching courses, structured to meet the needs of all key stage 1 and 2 age groups. All the courses feature Go Try Rugby's lovable mascot 'Boot the Ball' and rewards are provided for each child that completes a 6/8 week course
Key Stage 1 (5-7 years)
Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Courses available
Key Skills
These courses focus on how to travel with, send and receive a ball. The children are encouraged to practice and develop these skills for simple and invasive type games. During the sessions they will play, competitive invasion-type games using simple tactics for attacking and defending.

Key Stage 2 (7-8 years)
Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Courses available
Key Skills
These courses build on all the principles of Mini Boots. The children will create and play competitive and invasion games within small teams. They will be encouraged to use skills and tactics they have learnt and apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending. During the course they will learn to work with others to keep the game going.

Key Stage 2 (8-11 years)
Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Courses available
Key Skills
Academy Boots will build and develop the skills of both Mini and Junior Boots. The children will create and play competitive and invasion games within small teams. They will be encouraged to use skills and tactics they have learnt and apply basic principles suitable for attacking and defending. During the course they will learn to work with others to keep the game going.

The duration of all our standard courses listed above is 6/8 x 1 hour sessions, however we can tailor our courses to your specific needs.
There will be an awards ceremony at the end of each course. All children completing one of our six / eight -week courses will receive a course certificate. Training logs are completed for each session and children can progress through our bronze, silver and gold standards.
All courses contain the following activities tailored towards a specific age group
Rugby Skills & drills –promotes hand eye co-ordination
SAQ – Co-ordinating movement and improving footwork
Evasion and running skills – avoiding contact and developing athletic running skills
Team play and tag rugby
Encouraging sportsmanship
The benefits to the school are massive, bringing team spirit and sportsmanship. Developing physical and social awareness in a safe environment. Enabling teachers to concentrate on other duties. Sessions can be done during or after school hours. Go Try Rugby will provide all the equipment
Developing life skills, promoting teamwork, introducing technique and encouraging fun. Using the APES terminology. Active. Purposeful. Enjoyable. Sports

While teachers are on PPA time the Go Try Rugby coaching staff can come into your school and deliver rugby coaching.
At Go Try Rugby breakfast club is a very good way to start the day! Children will have 50 - 60 minutes of exercise in one of the chosen skills and drills.
Go Try Rugby lunchtime club is the same as Go Try Rugby breakfast club but tailored to the individual school in terms of time and length of the session.
Go Try Rugby can provide their Rugby coaching sessions within your afterschool club setting, providing girls and boys with an opportunity to learn new skills and take part in a formal exercise program.
